Advertising Terms

Last updated: 28 June 2026

These Advertising Terms apply to anyone who places an advertisement on the SCRLODX platform ("you", "advertiser"), in addition to our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Advertising products

We offer directory banner placements (rotating "spots") and reel advertisements that appear within the reels feed. Availability, position, pricing and targeting options are shown at the time of purchase. A reel advertisement may only be purchased together with, and as an add-on to, a directory advertisement.

2. Your responsibilities and warranties

By placing an advertisement you warrant that:

  • the advertisement and any linked content comply with all applicable laws, including the Australian Consumer Law, the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) Code of Ethics, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and any industry-specific advertising rules (for example, those applying to alcohol, gambling, therapeutic goods, financial products and food);
  • the advertisement does not promote tobacco or vaping products, and does not otherwise breach any advertising prohibition;
  • the advertisement is not false, misleading or deceptive, and does not contain unlawful, infringing, offensive or harmful content;
  • you own or are licensed to use all images, video, trade marks and other material in the advertisement; and
  • you are authorised to advertise the business or products shown, and hold any licence or authorisation the law requires for what you advertise.

You are solely responsible for the content of your advertisement and for its compliance with the law.

3. Link destination

When you create an advertisement you choose where it links — to your business listing on the Platform or to a web address you provide. You are responsible for that destination and for ensuring it is lawful, accurate and safe.

4. Review, rejection and removal

We may, but are not obliged to, review advertisements. We may reject, remove or suspend any advertisement at any time, including where we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, our policies or the law, or in response to a report. Where an advertisement is removed because you have breached these terms, our policies or the law, fees for the removed advertisement are not refundable. Where we remove or suspend an advertisement for a reason that is not caused by your breach, we will refund the unused portion of the fees for that advertisement on a pro-rata basis.

5. Pricing, billing and refunds

Advertising is billed in advance through Stripe in Australian dollars, for the spots, areas and duration you select. Directory placements are priced per week per area; reel advertisements are priced per week at a flat rate by creative type (image or video). To the extent permitted by law, amounts paid for advertising are non-refundable once the campaign has started, except as set out in clause 4 or where a refund or remedy is required by the Australian Consumer Law. A tax invoice is provided for each purchase.

6. Targeting and delivery

We aim to deliver advertisements to the areas you select but do not guarantee any particular number of impressions, clicks, placement frequency, or results. Delivery depends on factors including available inventory and viewer location. Nothing in this clause limits the consumer guarantees that apply to our services under the Australian Consumer Law, including the guarantee that services are provided with due care and skill.

7. Reporting and takedown

Viewers can report advertisements using the in-product report tool or by emailing report@scrlodx.com. We review reports and may remove advertisements that we consider unlawful or in breach of our policies.

8. Indemnity and liability

To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify SCRLODX against third-party claims, losses and costs arising from your advertisement or its linked content, or your breach of these terms or any law. This indemnity is reduced to the extent that our own negligent or unlawful act or omission caused or contributed to the claim, loss or cost. Our liability in connection with advertising is limited as set out in our Terms of Service, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Changes

We may update these Advertising Terms from time to time. The current version will be available on the Platform with its "last updated" date. Where changes are material, the notice provisions in our Terms of Service apply.
